Infleqtion was among the winners for the first-phase project awards under the US Department of Energy’s Genesis Mission program, the company acknowledged.

The DoE announced funding for 278 projects overall, covering the fields of AI, quantum technology, nuclear fusion, and more. The Trump administration announced there will be total project commitments of about $5 billion, though it was not clear how much is being allocated to quantum-related projects. It also was not immediately clear if any other quantum companies were among the first-selections, but Infleqtion had three projects chosen, according to the company’s press release:

• A collaboration between Argonne National Laboratory and Infleqtion to drive AI-optimization of quantum circuit design for realistic nuclear problems. 
• A collaboration between Brookhaven National Laboratory and Infleqtion to design and test deployable atomic quantum sensing enabled by Agentic AI. 
• A joint initiative between Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, University of Colorado Boulder and Infleqtion to simulate nonlinear plasma dynamics using quantum machine learning and agentic AI. 

This announcement follows the launch of the Genesis Mission program late last year. It is being led by Department of Commerce official Dario Gil, who is a former IBM quantum executive. For Infleqtion, these project wins come after its has been very involved in other US government work, including projects with NASA, the US Navy, and other agencies.
